Wanted: Swedish Factory For New ‘Flying’ Electric Boat

Electric boat entrepreneur Gustav Hasselskog wants to invest in Sweden. Now he’s looking for a factory. “We need a patch of land, preferably north of Stockholm, where we can start with 5 to 10 thousand square meters with expansion opportunities to triple the area in the long run,” Hasselskog says to DI Digital.

Electric boat entrepreneur Gustav Hasselskog wants to invest in Sweden. Now he’s looking for a factory.

Hasselskog started the electric boat manufacturer Candela in 2015. All Candela’s boats have hydro carriers, which means that it flies above the water’s surface when it reaches a certain speed and is master at getting the most out of a battery.

The company’s new boat C-8 is planned to reach customers in 2022, but a factory is needed first. Already today, the production of the older model C-7 takes place in connection with Candela’s office on Lidingö.

“We need a patch of land, preferably north of Stockholm, where we can start with 5 to 10 thousand square meters with expansion opportunities to triple the area in the long run,” Hasselskog says to DI Digital.
